A Flight Over the Reef

A Flight Over the Reef - The Pontoon Turnaround.

The scarlet helicopter is in perfect contrast to clearest of blue skies and aqua waters of the Great Barrier Reef. Time after time it swoops past the moored vessel and holds short of the pontoon, before slowly and steadily easing its skids back to earth.
As it ferries its excited visitors airborne, a small boat transfers people to and from the pontoon. With safety at a premium and life jackets already about their necks, the tourists disembark and board the helicopter with precision. All the while the pilot awaits at the controls and the three rotor blades whiz overhead. One last photo, one last check of harnesses and hatches and another flight is underway.
To see the imagery and almost smell the salt air, read the full story of the flight over the reef in the upcoming issue of Aviator magazine.
